I have made a necklace with 18 rather large coral beads, also with silver beads between them. The whole thing is kind of heavy. I have strung it on Acculon 47 stand wire and just crimped the ends with a crimping pliers. Is this going to be strong enough or should I restring and knot each bead?
If you used 2mm crimp beads,you may need to use 2 or 3 on each end for added safety. Almost all the necklaces I make are on the heavy side because I use chunky stone beads so I use 2 crimps on each end and so far have had no mishaps.

The silver is showing above the in god we trust all the way around the inside coin.
Since mid-1982 the Lincoln cent has been only 5% copper with a zinc core (silver in color). It is likely what you are seeing is the zinc core. It is possible that the copper plating was shaved off after leaving the mint, but a newly minted coin should weigh exactly 2.50 grams. It is possibly a lamination error where some of the copper has “flaked” off. It is possible the coin is partially unplated. I would recommend taking it to a coin expert for an evaluation.
